Taking place at the Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the Military Veterans Museum and the USS Wisconsin SSBN 827 Association hosted a Keel Laying Watch Party.  Attendees joined together and witnessed the solemn and patriotic ceremony and enjoyed the celebration of our shipbuilding successes.

The official Keel Laying Ceremony, hosted by General Dynamics Electric Boat and WISCONSIN (SSBN 827) Ship’s Sponsor, Dr. Kelly Geurts, was held at 9 AM CDT on 27 August 2025 in Quonset Point, Rhode Island. The ceremony concluded as Dr. Kelly Geurts proclaimed WISCONSIN's keel to be “truly and fairly laid.”
