Brian Daley
Since 1992, Brian Daley has been a principal in Daley Renée & Partners, Ltd., providing consulting services on employee benefits and risk management to large law firms and their clients.
Previously, Mr. Daley was a partner in A.W. Ormiston & Co., which he joined in 1983.
Other professional activities include serving three years as editor of the Society of Financial Service Professionals’ Life, Health Disability Income journal, and as a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council.
Since 1987, Mr. Daley has played an active role in the civic and cultural life of Chicago, serving on the Boards of fine arts and historic preservation organizations, including as a Director of early music ensemble Basically Bach, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Baroque Ensemble, and as a Director of Friends of Historic Second Church.
For 13 years, Mr. Daley co-chaired the Public Affairs forum of the Union League Club of Chicago, hosting more than 150 programs addressing international, national, state, and local issues, and welcoming speakers from the highest levels of government, military, private industry, NFPs, and academia.
He also chaired the Union League’s year-long bicentennial celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. He developed and hosted its highly acclaimed Abraham Lincoln Inaugural Sesquicentennial Symposium, which was broadcast on C-SPAN. In collaboration with The Great Books Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities, he produced the multi-media program celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. He also sat on the selection committee of the Democracy in Action Scholarship.
Mr. Daley served on the Union League’s nationally known Authors Group and chaired its annual Distinguished Writers Celebration.
He launched the Union League’s “Support Our Troops!” Military Benefit, which shipped care packages to troops serving in overseas combat zones, as well to wounded warriors recovering at home.
The brother, son, and grandson of combat veterans from three wars, Mr. Daley was deeply honored to serve on the Commissioning Committee of the USS Hyman G. Rickover (SSN 795), of which he is an Honorary Plankowner.
An avid reader, sailor, and sporting clays enthusiast, Mr. Daley and his wife, Lucie, pursue their interests in travel, cooking, and wine. They reside in Chicago.
